What is MSEAC’s main focus?
MSEAC advances equity for Indigenous, racialized, 2SLGBTQ+, low-income, and unhoused seniors (55+) through research, advocacy, and community power.
How does MSEAC advocate for seniors?
We push for systemic changes that empower seniors to thrive, including:
A legislated Seniors’ Advocate with investigative powers
Culturally appropriate housing models (including long-term care)
Equitable access to programs and services
How does MSEAC turn research into real-world impact?
We partner with the University of Manitoba to direct studies (e.g., Housing Models Research) that fuel:
Policy submissions (like our Seniors’ Advocate White Paper)
Community education workshops (see 2024 Engagement Report)
