Equity and Justice for Manitoba’s Seniors Facing Systemic Barriers

Working together so all seniors live with dignity, safe housing, and a stronger voice

A Message From Our Co-Chairs

MSEAC was established in 2023 to amplify the voices of equity-seeking seniors — including Indigenous, racialized, 2SLGBTQ+, disabled, unhoused, and low-income seniors (55+) across Manitoba. Through relentless community advocacy, we helped secure Manitoba’s first legislated, independent Seniors’ Advocate Office, launching in November 2025.

Join us in this critical work.

A Historic Win for Manitoba Seniors

Premier Wab Kinew signs the legislated Seniors’ Advocate into law. A victory shaped by years of MSEAC’s equity-focused advocacy. While we celebrate this milestone, our work continues to ensure the office has robust investigative powers to protect vulnerable seniors

Advocating for Manitoba’s Marginalized Seniors

The Manitoba Seniors Equity Action Coalition (MSEAC) is a grassroots nonprofit dedicated to advancing the rights of equity groups, including Indigenous, racialized, 2SLGBTQ+, low-income, unhoused, and disabled individuals. Born from province-wide consultations, we champion equitable housing, healthcare, and a legislated Seniors Advocate with investigative powers to protect equity-deserving communities. Together, we’re building a Manitoba where everyone ages with dignity

Seniors Deserve Equity

Across Manitoba, equity-seeking seniors (55+) face systemic barriers – especially Indigenous, racialized, 2SLGBTQ+, low-income, unhoused, and seniors with accessibility needs.

Our province-wide consultations revealed urgent priorities:

  • Culturally safe healthcare

  • Equitable housing

  • A legislated Seniors’ Advocate with investigative powers

  • Anti-isolation programs

  • Accountability for care providers
