Webinar Description:

• How money is spent on long-term care directly impacts the quality of life for people who live there.
• This webinar will present the findings of the two reviews that the British Columbia Seniors advocate did in 2018, and again in 2023 on the comparative cost/impact of provincially contracted for-profit and non-profit long-term care facilities.
• This evidence-based data demonstrates the importance of promoting greater accountability and transparency for public investment in long-term care facilities in order to better provide services to seniors as well as improving government efficiency in the use of taxpayers’ dollars.
• The lessons from the B.C. experience could help inform the development of a similar review by the Seniors Advocate of Manitoba to better understand the cost/impact of service providers in our province.
